Beginner’s Sewing Session – £40.00, age 8+
Have you been inspired by the likes of the Great British Sewing Bee and want to get cracking with your first ever makes? Maybe you haven’t touched a machine in years, but you are keen to get back in the sewing saddle. If so, this is the class for you. Bring along your machine or use one of ours and you can learn to insert a zip, make a pencil case or makeup bag, and a cushion cover.

Beginner’s Overlocker Class – £40.00
Melissa joins us once again to show newbie overlocker fans how to get to grips with this different style of sewing. Tackle sewing with jersey and see how sewing with a stretch material is different from ordinary cotton; learn how to thread the machine, deal with tension issues and see all the different stitches before you learn to make an adult’s t-shirt or some kid’s harem trousers.

Knit a Shrug Cardigan – £55.00

Learn how to make your very own hat with this super simple session that teaches you the basics of rib, stocking stitch and decreasing – you’ll even get to make a big pompom to finish to sew on top. Knitted on really big needles with a lovely dense super chunky wool, this hat knits up amazingly quickly and will keep your head nice and toasty this winter. This class is perfect for beginners as long as you have a basic grasp of knit and purl.

Knitted Wristwarmers – £40.00, 14+
Make a pair of gorgeously soft wristwarmers/fingerless gloves in our super soft alpaca wool. Perfect to give as gifts or keep to yourself for the colder months, you can choose from our range of luscious coloured yarns to make either a plain knitted or cabled pair. An ideal chance to learn the basics of cabling if you are already a confident knitter, but for those who have only recently taken up knitting this is a great way to get into creating something new. Knitters must have a basic grasp of knit and purl to take this class – depending on your knitting speed, you will take home the beginnings of a pair of wristwarmers and the pattern with which to continue at home.

Beginner’s Patchwork – £75.00
This one off introduction to patchwork is run by renowned patchwork designer Mandy Munroe, and involves learning basic patchwork techniques including colour choice, rotary cutting and sewing blocks using modern methods. On the day you will sew four blocks and gain enough skill in order to continue sewing squares and triangles at home so you can finish off your quilt under your own steam.

Sew and Slash Patchwork – £75.00
Another one off patchwork course with Many Munroe allows you to create a slightly different looking quilt using the same basic techniques. Suitable for beginners, the class allows you time to choose fabrics and create your first block with Mandy, before you finish off the rest at home.

Log Cabin Birds Patchwork – £75.00
Perfect as the next step on from the beginner’s patchwork class, this workshop gives you the chance to create some new shapes and introduces triangles into the mix. Learn from Mandy how to piece together your very own bird themed patchwork design and you can either turn it into a cushion cover or make more of the same at home and transform them into a quilt.

  7. Hi, just wondering how much a class is to make the a-lined skirt or pillow cover? I can only see kids prices! Thank you 🙂

    • Hi Robyn, the cushion cover is part of the kid’s classes programme we have for the summer – we are just about to relaunch the normal programme of classes complete with prices, which will include the A-line skirt. Keep an eye on the blog for more details!

    • Hi Kristi, please can you let us know which date class you would like to attend and we’ll check if there is space for you and your friend. Once you’ve done that, you’ll both need to pop into the shop and pay a 50% deposit to secure your spaces.
